Jaja Santiago and the Saitama Ageo Medics relied on the offensive brilliance of Lorenne Teixeira to topple the Hisamitsu Springs, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, 25-22, in the 2021 Japan V. League at the Panasonic Arena on Sunday (7 November).

Teixeira showed the way with a game-high 26 points built on 23 attacks, two aces and a block for the Ageo Medics, who bounced back from a deflating, three-set loss to Hisamitsu on Saturday.

Saitama, which evened their season record at 4-4, brushed aside a speed bump in the opening set before securing the succeeding frames in convincing manner.

Yuka Sato and Mami Uchiseto provided ample support for Teixeira with 18 points apiece, while Santiago made her towering presence felt above the net with three blocks and eight attacks to score 11.

Hisamitsu, on the other hand, fell to a 6-2 card.

Asuka Hamamatsu and Yuka Imamura spearheaded the losing side with 13 points apiece, while Miyuki Nakagawa managed 12 of her own in the tough loss.

Santiago and the Ageo Medics shall next face the Denso Airybees on 20 and 21 November.
