Thirdy Ravena and the San-En NeoPhoenix fell short of a comeback, losing again to the Shibuya Sun Rockers, 80-91, in the Japan B. League at the Aoyama Gakuin Memorial Hall in Tokyo on Sunday (7 November).

The Filipino reinforcement poured out 13 points, all but two coming in the fourth quarter, as he spearheaded a spirited but fruitless surge for the NeoPhoenix.

On the back of Ravena, San-En managed to slice the deficit down to as low as two points in the final frame, but the Sun Rockers seized control with a 9-0 scoring spree for a 77-66 lead.

Kaito Morizane and Kosuke Ishii then struck the finishing blows from there, propelling Shibuya to an 8-3 record.

Morizane waxed hot from deep as he drained six three-pointers for an 18-point outing, while James McAdoo and Max Hisatake contributed 13 points each in the winning cause.

San-En, on the other hand, continued to slide as they dropped to a 3-8 slate.

Robert Carter paced the losing side with a near double-double of 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while Justin Knox collected 18 points, six boards and two steals that went down the drain.

Ravena and the NeoPhoenix will try to put a halt to their losing skid when they collide with Matthew Aquino and Shinshu on Wednesday.
