Thirdy Ravena and the San-En NeoPhoenix could not get things going from deep, falling to the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 72-84, in the 2021-22 Japan B. League at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza on Sunday (17 October).

Ravena produced 12 points, two rebounds and two steals but shot a dismal 1-of-8 from three-point territory as San-En struggled to convert from downtown with only two made shots out of 22 attempts.

Naoto Tsuji and Ryo Terashima pounced on their off-shooting foes, combining for eight booming triples to catapult Hiroshima to a league-leading 5-1 record.

Tsuji erupted for 28 points built on five treys, hauled down five rebounds and dished out two assists, while Terashima knocked down three long-ranged bombs to wind up with 18 points and six dimes for the Dragonflies, who sent San-En reeling to a 2-4 slate.

Chris Jackson imposed his presence inside the shaded area with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. He served as the anchor for Hiroshima, which dominated the rebounding department, 42 to 24.

On the other hand, Elias Harris put up an all-around effort of 19 points, six boards and four steals for the NeoPhoenix, who could not quell a searing 10-0 start of the Dragonflies in the fourth period that spelled their demise.

Ravena and San-En will attempt to bounce back when they collide with Javi Gomez de Liaño and the Ibaraki Robots next weekend.
