Thirdy Ravena and the San-En NeoPhoenix suffered a late collapse in a 64-70 loss to the Shibuya Sun Rockers in the Japan B. League at the Memorial Hall in Tokyo on Saturday (6 November).

The Filipino stalwart struggled from the field as he finished with four points on 2-of-8 shooting and three rebounds for the NeoPhoenix, who squandered an 18-point lead in the deflating loss which gave them a 3-7 record.

San-En barely felt the scoring slump of Ravena at first, after commanding the tempo in the opening half and taking a comfortable 41-23 cushion in the third quarter.

Facing little resistance before the final period, the NeoPhoenix were caught by surprise down the stretch as James Michael McAdoo and Josh Harellson mounted a searing surge that gave Shibuya a 50-49 lead.

A seesaw battle ensued from there on, with the Sun Rockers holding a slim 65-64 edge before McAdoo and Leo Vendrame widened the gap to complete the comeback.

McAdoo erupted for a monster double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds with five steals, while Harrellson complemented him with 13 points and 11 boards for Shibuya, which rose to a 7-3 slate.

On the other hand, San-En was spearheaded by Justin Knox, who ended with 18 points in a losing cause.

Ravena and the NeoPhoenix will aim to recover their winning form when they collide with the Sun Rockers again on Sunday.
