Phoenix ends Terrafirma’s three-game win streak

THE Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters pulled the Terrafirma Dyip back down to earth with a 96-84 win in the 2021 Honda PBA Philippine Cup on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Versatile forward Jason Perkins fueled the Fuel Masters’ charge as he scored 28 points, including 20 in a scintillating first half performance. He also had four rebounds and four assists to help Phoenix improve to 3-5 and tie Terrafirma in the standings.

Bullstrong power forward Vic Manuel added 18 points including nine in a pivotal fourth quarter showing where Phoenix unloaded a huge 15-3 run that gave them an 84-67 lead with eight minutes remaining in the contest. Matthew Wright added 15 points, four boards, four dimes and three steals.

Aldrech Ramos had 13 points to lead Terrafirma while Roosevelt Adams, Eric Camson and Joseph Gabayni had 11 markers each. The team’s leading scorer, Juami Tiongson, was held down to just eight points on 2-of-10 shooting. (JNP)
