CEBU events photographer Neil June L. Euldan filed on Jan. 4 a complaint against Diogenes Ababa Edvardsen, a local of Naga City, for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 before the Naga City Prosecutor’s Office.

Euldan said that on Oct. 13, 2020, an unidentified vehicle was following him while he was driving a Mitsibushi Strada GLS 2.4D 2020, a car he assumed from Edvardsen.

At a gas station where he stopped for refueling, two men who identified themselves as policemen approached him while he was paying for his gas bill. They told him to get off the vehicle.

He said that Edvardsen appeared and shouted at him with humiliating words, ordering him to return the vehicle to her. Earlier that day, Euldan received a demand letter from Edvardsen, giving him 10 days to return the vehicle.

Euldan requested the matter be settled at a police station. On Oct. 14, 2020, they went to Naga City Police Station where Euldan presented before the police the Memorandum Agreement and the Deed of Sale of the vehicle. He said he was ready to compromise and return the vehicle provided that Edvardsen will return his payment.

While in the middle of the meeting and without settling yet, Edvardsen walked out of the station with her companions and took the vehicle without consent from Euldan or the police. The incident was recorded on the police blotter.

In a statement, Euldan said the public should know that the vehicle was already sold to him and any transaction related to the vehicle is illegal and unauthorized. (PR)
