Seoul, pronounced 'soul', is the capital of South Korea
and the country's largest city with a population of 10 million and was
ranked eighth in the 2012 Global Cities Index. Located on the Han River,
the city's history dates back to 18 BC. The Seoul National Capital Area
houses four UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Changdeokgung, Hwaseong
Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.
