10 Sep – Pia Wurtzbach is not at all affected by haters who tried to bring her down over her recent statement about the Pemberton pardon.
As reported on Inquirer, the former Miss Universe who expressed her anger and frustration over President Rodrigo Duterte' decision to pardon United States Marine Lance Cpl. Joseph Scott Pemberton, who was convicted in 2014 for killing Filipina transgender Jennifer Laude, revealed that a barrage of hate comments flooded her Twitter when she logged in following her previous post.
"I am so used to this. I was already the subject of bashing, even before [Miss Universe]," she added.
Wurtzbach stated that she has long learned not to be afraid to speak up her mind especially when she knows she is right, and will not be apologetic about her previous statement.
Back on 8 September, the actress encouraged her fans and followers alike to register and vote in the 2022 elections, saying that everything seemed to be getting worse the more she reads the news.
"And now this? Let's all make sure we register to vote for the next elections. Each one of us," she added.
In another post she repeatedly wrote the words #TransLivesMatter.
