Piers Morgan says new meds are finally 'cracking' his long COVID

Piers Morgan has revealed he still has long COVID months after catching the coronavirus but that new medication is finally helping him.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter tested positive for the coronavirus in July and has since told his fans on social media that he had an issue with his eyes afterwards and that he has also been struggling with his sense of taste.

However, he has now shared that things are starting to move in the right direction.

Morgan, 56, opened up after someone tweeted him to say they had been battling long COVID for eight months.

“DM me… I had same for 5 months but new meds seem to be cracking it,” he wrote.

The TV star tested positive for the coronavirus in July and has said he believes he caught it at Wembley during the Euros 2020 final.

In August, Morgan told his fans that he had an issue with his eyes after having COVID.

“28-day COVID update: a new treat - aside from ongoing tedious fatigue & inability to taste wine, all the coughing's caused a 'posterior vitreous detachment' in my left eye,” he tweeted.

“So, I'm now seeing weird ghostly cobwebs swimming around. It really is the virus that keeps on giving.”

Then in October he revealed that he still couldn't taste fine wine.

"Of all the many irritations of long COVID, not least me banging on about it, an ongoing inability (15 weeks after infection) to taste good wine and regular coffee is the worst,” he tweeted.

When someone remarked that he could save plenty of money by drinking bad wine for now, Morgan quipped: “On balance, I’d rather die.”
