Pitong Pinoy 2.0 continues the search for modern Pinoy heroes

Do you know someone who you think is a modern-day hero? A friend, a neighbor, a colleague or an acquaintance who lives his or her life in the service of others?

Yahoo! Philippines wants you to nominate them for this year’s edition of Pitong Pinoy Awards.

Pitong Pinoy is an annual search for Filipinos who have touched lives, inspired many, made an impact in society, spread great hope, and stayed undaunted by life’s challenges.

Pitong Pinoy 2.0 launches at a meaningful time: the end of the year-long celebrations that marked national hero Jose Rizal’s 150th birth anniversary on June 19.

If you know someone who has made a huge difference in his or her own little way, it’s time to recognize the effort.  Tell us why that Pinoy deserves to be part of the Pitong Pinoy and we’ll help spread the good news.

Tell us their story (you may add a photo!) and email your nominations to pitongpinoy2012@yahoo.com.ph not later than 10:00 a.m. Philippine time on July 10, 2012.

Yahoo! Philippines will choose 12 finalists and give YOU the chance to vote for your favorites.  The nominee with the most number of votes will receive the Pitong Pinoy People’s Choice Award.  He or she will become the first of the Pitong Pinoy awardees.

The other six honorees will be chosen by Yahoo! Philippines.

What's your idea of a modern-day hero?
