A PERSONNEL of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chaplain Service has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, a police official confirmed on Wednesday, March 25.
Major Duds Santos, PNP General Hospital officer-in-charge, said the personnel is currently admitted at the St. Luke’s Hospital Global City.
His condition is improving and he has been moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) into a regular room.
“Yes, improving condition. He was critical a few days ago. Now wala na sya sa life support. Improving talaga,” said Santos.
He said following the contact tracing, they have identified at least seven personnel who may had close contact with the patient.
Santos said they were placed under quarantine from March 8 to March 22. Not one showed any symptoms of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the respiratory disease caused by the new coronavirus.
“We did 100 percent contact tracing with that particular patient. So all of them finished their quarantine,” he said. (SunStar Philippines)
