The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced that the court approved the medical furlough of former Ozamiz City vice mayor Nova Princess Parojinog in November 2018.
In a statement, PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Bernard Banac said that based on their investigation, the release of Parojinog from detention was not a form of special treatment.
“After thorough examination of documents and official reports, it became clear that the medical furlough of detainee Parojinog on November 12, 2018 had the express permission of the court,” he said.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 95 approved the medical furlough of Parojinog for her dental x-ray.
This includes December 23, 2019 when she visited her brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. at the Metro Manila District Jail in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.—AAC (with reports from Lea Ylagan)
