CEBU City Police is temporarily prohibiting videokes in Cebu City during the daytime with students at home for the online classes.
Police officials will respond once they will receive complaints through their hotline regarding this matter.
PNP Police Chief General Camilo Cascolan ordered all his members nationwide to implement the ordinance to each local government regarding the Anti-Noise Ordinance where loud sound systems that may disrupt the public will be either reprimanded or prosecuted.
Children can be disturbed by the loud videoke in the neighborhood during their online classes.
As a result, Cebu City Police Chief Police Colonel Josefino Ligan also ordered his subordinates to conduct a roving to inner parts of the barangays to monitor and reprimand those who won’t follow this order, especially during class hours.
Students nowadays are just inside their homes answering their modules given by their teachers, and when the environment is noisy, it might affect their studies.
The public may contact CCPO hotline through this number 465-2556 and 0918-268-2846 to report or file a complaint.
Ligan urged Cebuanos to support children who are trying to study without interrupting their classes during this pandemic.
One may still use their videoke as long as the volume is minimized during the early hours of the night time before 10 p.m./AYB/MMC
