OVER P800,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized during anti-narcotics operations in Talisay City, Cebu on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

At 12:48 a.m., e-bike driver Junjie Labuca Cabuenas, 26, yielded 80 grams of shabu in Barangay Cansojong. The contraband’s value was pegged at P544,000.

Talisay police chief Lt. Col. Randy Caballes said Cabuenas had been included in the list of personalities involved in illegal drug trade, or high value individuals. The suspect was caught in August 2019 for drug charges but he was released in November 2020.

Caballes said Cabuenas had a contact from Cebu City Jail who instructed him where to source the illegal drugs.

The suspect reportedly can dispose of 100 grams of illegal drugs in his barangay, Cansojong.

In Barangay Tangke, Kharyl Requeron Cabando, 26, was caught at 10:48 p.m. Operatives seized 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.

Cabando reportedly started selling illegal drugs in October last year and she could dispose of 50 grams per week. Her contact came from the Cebu City Jail also, according to Caballes.

Suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
