MANILA, Philippines – Two suspects in the murder of Dumaguete radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso were arrested on Thursday, police said Friday.

A report from the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) identified the suspects as Teddy Reyes Salaw and Glenn Corsame.

Police investigators said Corsame, the alleged driver of the motorcycle that was used to ambush Generoso, is a retired policeman.

Authorities also confiscated from the suspects a .45 caliber pistol Norinco with eight rounds of live ammunition.

Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) chief Colonel Julian Entoma said they were able to track and identify the assailants with the help of CCTV footages that captured their pick-up and escape routes after the crime.

Generoso was attacked around 7:25 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Piapi while he was on his way to his morning radio program.

The 67-year old radio broadcaster died on the spot after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said they are looking into some angles as possible motives of the crime. These include his profession, politics, and family land dispute.
