The adorable video shows Joshua Morris, a police officer in Wilmington, Delaware, presenting a fresh pair of Steph Curry-brand basketball shoes to a boy who helped hype him up when he played basketball with the local kids.
On March 26th, Morris posted a video of himself hooping with kids at the park while in full uniform. The video went viral, and many viewers noted the hilarious kid who was hyping up the officer in the background.
As a response to the viral clip, Morris decided to thank his number one hype man by buying him a pair of kicks.

“You the reason why my video went viral,” said Morris to the boy. “So I wanted to gift you with something.”
In the original video, Morris shot a three-pointer, and started walking away before the shot even went in. This “no-look three,” which involves turning around before the shot goes in, is a signature move for NBA sharpshooter Steph Curry. So as the shot went up, the boy shouted out “Oh That’s Curry!” Sure enough, it was nothing but net. Looks like Officer Splash Brother is in the house!
Clearly, it was only fitting that Morris’ gift pay homage to Steph himself.
“Since you was my hype man, I’m gonna be your hype man right now,” said Morris before handing him the box. “A fresh pair of Currys!”
Morris also included some cash, so that the boy could buy some Steph swag to go along with the shoes.
“That’s for you being the best hype man ever,” said Morris. “You calling all my shots ‘Curry,’ so now you got a fresh pair of Currys.”
Are these products all hype or actually worth the $$$?:
The heartwarming Instagram clip spread like wildfire, and it even reached Steph Curry himself. “That’s how you do it right there,” commented the superstar. The video also got some love from Under Armour Basketball, who makes the Curry brand sneaker.
Morris hopes that by playing basketball at the park, he can help establish positive relationships with the kids in the community. “When we play basketball together, that’s a common ground that we can meet on,” said the officer to the young boy. “So we can build these relationships.”
To Morris, the friendships made on the court go way beyond the game itself.
“Anytime you see me, know it’s always love,” said Morris. “I always got your back, no matter what.”
Everyone deserves a hype man like this in their life!
