Police to tighten security on last day of Bar exam

THE police will tighten up their security measures on the last day of Bar examination on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, deputy city director for operation of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), parents, relatives and friends are expected to flock in droves to the two testing centers – University of Cebu Banilad and University of San Carlos main campus – to meet the bar takers and huddle with them after the bar exam, thus the need to secure the premises.

The CPPO will also coordinate with Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) in manning the traffic along the vicinity of the two universities

Traffic jam is expected along UC Banilad and USC campus on P. del Rosario Street as parents and relatives would bring their cars to fetch the examinees.

Rafter said that just like the previous Bar exam in Cebu City, the examinees are not allowed to drink liquor with their family to celebrate in establishments located within the 100-meter radius from the two schools based on the executive order (EO) issued by Mayor Michael Rama.

Rafter said Rama’s EO 14, which orders the liquor ban, is in effect from the first day of Bar exam until 11:59 p.m. on the last day of exam.

“Based sa executive order ni Mayor the EO is still effective up to the 11:59 in the evening katong 100 meter radius nga walay mga inom,” Rafter said.

Rafter, however, revealed that they have not recorded any Bar-related incident since the exam began last November 9.

Nobody was also arrested under the city’s Anti-Noise ordinance. (AYB, TPT)
