Policeman’s Gun Kills Playing Son

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union - A two-year-old boy was killed the other night when his four-year-old brother played with the pistol owned by their father - a policeman assigned to the San Fernando City Police Station - inside their house in this city.

The initial report reaching Camp Gen. Florendo in La Union identified the victim only as "Little K" the two-year-old son of a 29-year-old police non-commissioned officer.

The policeman reported that the incident happened at 8:45 p.m. inside their house.

He said his four-year-old son apparently got his .22-caliber pistol from inside his bag, played with it, and accidentally shot the victim.

The bullet entered the toddler's left cheek and exited in the back of the head. He did not make it to the Lorma Hospital alive.
