Potential typhoon may hit PH next week – PAGASA

MANILA, Philippines – State weather service PAGASA is monitoring a weather system outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3:00 pm today (November 26), tropical storm “Kammuri” was spotted at 2,335 kilometers east of Visayas, packed with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

It is moving towards the northwest direction at a speed of 40 km/h.

‘Kammuri’ is forecast to enter PAR on Saturday (November 30).

Once it reaches PAR, it will be named tropical cyclone Tisoy.

PAGASA said the weather system is expected to make landfall and cross over Southern Luzon or it may shift its track northwestward towards Japan.
