The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic might not have many people in the mood for dancing, but that may change now that prima ballerina Lisa Macuja Elizalde is offering a free 30-minute online ballet class tomorrow for those stuck at home thanks to the Luzon lockdown.
Elizalde, the founder of Ballet Manila, will conduct the class on her company’s Facebook page at 10am, the dance company said today.
“Stay in shape in the comfort of your home and dance away during this time of enhanced community quarantine,” Ballet Manila’s announcement said.
All participants need to do is prepare a yoga mat, a chair, soft ballet shoes or socks, drinking water, and a towel.
Elizalde was the first foreign soloist of the Kirov Ballet, one of the world’s leading dance companies. She studied as a scholar at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and was hailed as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Filipinos in 1995.
