PRO 7 director issues 92-day challenge to police chiefs in Central Visayas

ALL police chiefs in Central Visayas must submit a performance report to cover the 92 days since Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba assumed as director of the Police Regional Office Central Visayas (PRO 7) on October 13, 2022.

Those with high achievements will be honored, while those with poor results in their operations or who did not pass the given standard of accomplishment will be re-evaluated by the PRO 7 placement board.

“Hence, they may be subject to relief or transfer. On the other hand, if they all pass the parameter set forth by the placement board they can be retained in their respective position,” Alba said in a mix of English and Tagalog.

He said he wanted to continue the anti-criminality campaign that he launched when he took office in October.

He said its aim was to reduce the crime volume, address the illegal drugs problem and clear the region of criminal elements.

At the end of the 92-day challenge, Alba ordered all station commanders, including city and provincial directors, to meet with their local chief executives and report their accomplishments in what will be called The State of Peace and Order Address.

He said it is important for the community to know what their police are doing to combat crime.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, for his part, said the challenge will motivate them to work harder to achieve peace and order in their jurisdiction.

The CCPO currently leads the Philippine National Police’s anti-criminality program in Central Visayas followed by the Cebu Police Provincial Office.

From November 14 to 20, the CCPO conducted 53 anti-illegal drugs operations, arresting 64 drug personalities and seizing close to half a kilo of shabu with a standard drug price of P3,190,220.

During the same period, the CCPO also arrested 130 persons involved in unauthorized gambling and eight persons for illegal possession of firearms.

It also arrested 43 wanted persons. (AYB, PJB)
