PRO 7 ranks first among police regional offices in anti-illegal drugs campaign

THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) ranked first among the regional police offices in the country for having the most number of accomplishments in their nationwide campaign against illegal drugs.

PRO 7 Director Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba said that in their 155 anti-criminality operations from November 26 to 29, they were able to confiscate a total of 1,311.33 grams of shabu worth P8,939,544 million and arrest 193 drug personalities, including a high-value individual.

In another region-wide Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo) from 12:01 a.m. of November 29 to 11:59 p.m. of the same day, the PRO 7 also seized 1,197.71 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P8,144,428 million and 15 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,800.

They also arrested 190 persons engaged in illegal gambling and P18,109 bet money and 156 gambling paraphernalia.

Alba was thankful that not a single life was lost on the part of the police and the suspects during the four-day police operations.

“From my first day in office, we have worked persistently to become more efficient, transparent, and results-oriented in accomplishing our mandate of maintaining peace and order and protecting the people from any forms of criminality,” Alba said.

He said the dedication of his men toward work and the implementation of national anti-drug and internal security program in line with the Kasimbayanan program of Philippine National Police Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has helped lessen the crime rate in Central Visayas.

Kasimbayanan, which stands for Kapulisan, Simbahan, Pamayanan, engages multi-sectoral entities and communities toward nation building and the pursuit of a more holistic and sustainable peace and security situation in the community.

Alba credited their success to his men and the public and stakeholders who provided information that led to the arrest of the suspects.

He assured the public that they continue their mission to catch illegal drug personalities so that more barangays will be declared drug cleared and drug free. (AYB, TPT)
