PRO 7 seize over 1 kilo of shabu worth P6.4M during Sacleo on Jan. 2

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 conducted a simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation (Sacleo) that started at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, and ended at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Different police stations under the PRO 7 conducted 95 buy-busts, which resulted in the arrest of 104 drug personalities.

They also seized 1,114.55 grams of shabu with a standard drug price (SDP) of P7,578,940.

Police in Lapu-Lapu City had the largest haul with 538.15 grams of shabu with an SDP of P3,659,420, followed by the Cebu City Police Office with 401 grams with an SDP of P2,731,016 and the Cebu Police Provincial Office with 128.03 grams of shabu with an SDP of P870,000.

They also launched 88 illegal gambling operations and arrested 204 persons.

They seized 141 illegal gambling paraphernalia and confiscated P46,519 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal gambling.

Police also confiscated 122 unlicensed firearms and two explosives.

They arrested 12 persons who were in possession of unlicensed firearms.

They also arrested seven most wanted persons in the region and 83 wanted persons with pending warrants of arrest issued by the court.

PRO 7 Director Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis welcomed the accomplishments during the Sacleo.

“This one-day accomplishment is a product of your utmost commitment and diligence in our anti-criminality campaign. Thus, let us continue to carry out these relentless efforts in the performance of our duties and responsibilities with endless support from our community and other law enforcement agencies,” Bearis said.

The police official ordered police in Cebu to intensify their campaign against criminality, especially since many people are expected to be in the metro in the next few days for the Sinulog activities that will culminate with the Sinulog Grand Parade on Sunday, Jan. 15. (AYB / PJB)
