Robredo People’s Council organizer Dante Gatdula has been missing for four days now, says the Quezon province chapter of Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan (MAKABAYAN).
Gatdula was said to be on his way to Lucena City on April 23 to attend a meeting with supporters of presidential aspirant Leni Robredo, when he suddenly went missing.
Among his tasks as organizer was to handle transportation matters with volunteers for the vice president’s Quezonduan grand rally on April 28, and looking for poll watchers for the upcoming May 9 elections.
As the campaign reaches its homestretch, suddenly one of our volunteers in Quezon has gone missing. Dante’s wife Betsie mentioned that he has been receiving threats before going missing.
“Minsan may nakaalitan po siya sa telepono. Hindi ko lang alam kung sino ‘yong kausap niya," she said.
(Sometimes I’d notice him arguing with someone over the telephone. I’m just not sure who he was talking to.)
Gatdula's disappearance comes less than two weeks before the May 9 elections. It is unknown whether or not his vanishment is politically motivated.
Betsie is appealing to anyone for information of her husband’s whereabouts.
MAKABAYAN Quezon condemned all forms of election-related harassment and called on others to contact Gatdula’s family should anybody find any trace of him.
Their contact details are as follows:
