Project Balik Buhay suspends vax operations

VACCINATION operations organized by Project Balik Buhay (PBB) are temporarily suspended until further notice to address any needed physical repairs in light of Typhoon Odette (Rai).

In a statement posted in their Facebook page on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, PBB officials said data recording systems and SMS notifications “are highly dependent on network connections which remain unstable at this time.”

“As we rise again together, we beg for your understanding as we ensure a safe and smooth vaccination process as soon as conditions are more favorable,” PBB said.

Individuals to be vaccinated were advised to wait for the SMS notification on their new vaccination schedule before proceeding to the PBB-IEC Vaccination MegaCenter and to check on their FB page for any updates.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) announced all fully vaccinated adults (18 years old and above) are now eligible to receive single-dose booster shots at least three months after the second dose of selected vaccines.

Individuals who already received two doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Sinovac, and Sputnik V can now get booster shots at least three months from their primary series.

Originally, booster doses of these vaccines were set six months after getting fully vaccinated.

Those who were inoculated with the Janssen vaccine can get their booster shots at least two months after their first dose.

The DOH also reiterated that booster shots are not yet recommended for ages 12 to 17 years old.

The Health Department assured that all vaccines bearing the Emergency Use Authorization by the Food and Drug Administration are proven safe and effective. (JOB)
