President Rodrigo Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — “There are about 22,000 policemen all over the country protecting the drug. I won’t force you to believe me. Some say we are giving Duterte the power to appoint, more power to appoint the barangay captains. Hey, I’m not interested in appointing anybody. Whatever you do with barangay elections so be it.”
This has been the reaction of President Rodrigo Duterte when asked if he would appoint officials of barangay should the village polls is postponed.
Last Tuesday, the President mentioned that he told House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez to delegate the power of appointing barangay leaders if the election postponement bill will be approved.
Meanwhile, the President is not satisfied in pursuing policemen involved in illegal drug trade.
Consequently, he has increased the reward money from P2-million to P3-million against ninja cops and other government personnel involved in illegal drug operations.
“Those policemen, the so called murder for hire, my reward money against you since no ninja cops have been captured yet, I’m raising the bounty. I’m offering P3-million per head, let’s see. It will still increase, so that we will get rid of you. Those connected in the government, whether military, police, Office of the President, mayor, because we have become a narco state,” Duterte said.
He also said he will not hesitate to order law enforcers to neutralize even his children particularly Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Pulong Duterte if caught red handed in drug smuggling.
“My order before was if any of my children is involved in drugs, kill him so people will not say anything. So I told Pulong, ‘My order is to kill you if you are caught red-handed. I will protect the police who will kill you.’ The better, so people will not say anything,” Duterte added.
Meanwhile, the President also warned Senator Leila de Lima of cases to be filed against her because of the irregularities in the Disbursement Acceleration Program during the last administration. – Rosalie Coz | UNTV News & Rescue
