PSA 7: 1.4M people in Central Visayas receive national ID cards

MORE than a million people in Central Visayas have already received their national ID cards from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA 7).

The agency reported that 25.94 percent or 1,446,431 of the 5,575,236 persons who have applied for national ID at the PSA 7 since the launching of the National Identification System in 2021.

Mary Clare Coronado, PSA 7 spokesperson, advised the remaining applicants who have not yet received their national ID cards to remain patient, as their IDs are still being subjected to a standard verification process.

“It will take time to be issued to every individual as our standard verification process will determine that every PhilSys registration number in each ID is unique,” Coronado added.

She added as long as there are no problems in the standard verification process, their head office will immediately print the IDs and send them to the owner via the Philippine Postal Corp.

Coronado said the processing of the national IDs will take at least a year since registration.

President Rodrigo Duterte issued Executive Order 162 in February 2022, requiring all public and private establishments to accept national ID as valid ID in all transactions.
