Punta Engaño port back in operations

THE Port of Punta Engaño in Lapu-Lapu City is back on its operations almost a year after it was halted due to the facilities damaged by Typhoon Odette in December 2021.

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) and concerned stakeholders held a blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly completed passenger terminal building on Friday, December 9, 2022.

It took about six months or 180 calendar days to complete the damaged passenger terminal building and covered walk.

Engr. Sofronio Magdadaro, CPA engineering department manager, told SunStar Cebu that the renovation started on April 11 and was completed on October 5.

Magdadaro said the cost of the repair is P7,549,583.95, which was sourced from the CPA Corporate Budget. (MKG)
