TWO old houses were destroyed by a fire that hit Victor Village in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City Thursday night, June 2, 2022.

The fire broke out around 6 p.m. and it was put out 28 minutes after, or at 6:28 p.m.

Fire Officer 3 Emerson Arceo, fire investigator, told SunStar that no one was in the houses when the fire broke out.

Arceo said they failed to get the names of those renting the two houses, but the residence where the fire started was reportedly rented by a certain “Tagalog.”

"Allegedly didto nag sugod sa ground sa balay, dapit sa sala sa balay nga gipuy-an sa usa ka certain Tagalog,” said Arceo.

Arceo said Thursday’s blaze caused an estimated P2.7 million worth of damage.

The Cebu City Fire Office is still investigating on what caused the blaze. (BBT/LMY)
