The Quezon City Government has warned business establishment owners to avoid transacting with fixers for business permit renewal.

In a statement, the local government reported a business owner who was duped of P339,499.95 by an alleged fixer who promised to expedite the renewal of his business permit.

According to the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD), Massive Integrated Tech Solutions, represented by Norberto Reblora Jr., has filed estafa charges amounting to P339, 499.95 against Mariecris Bobiles.

BPLD head Margarita Santos said Reblora’s case should serve as a warning to other businesses to refrain from transacting with fixers.

Wala pong dahilan para lumapit pa tayo sa fixer dahil pinadali na natin ang proseso sa pagkuha ng mga permit, lisensiya at iba pang dokumento na kailangan sa pagnenegosyo (There is no reason for us to transact with fixers because we already eased the process of applications of permits, license and other business documents),” she said. –AAC
