Radaza’s civil case vs Ahong Chan dismissed

(UPDATED) ANOTHER case filed by outgoing Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Paz Radaza against reelected City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan was dismissed by the court.

The dismissal came after Radaza, who was defeated by Chan in the May 9 polls, failed to appear during the mediation in March 2022.

Presiding Judge Mendulfo Pintor Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 72 in Lapu-Lapu City issued the order of dismissal on May 16, 2022.

Radaza’s camp said, though, that they have not yet received a copy of the dismissal order, not a copy of the previous order referring to the case of mediation, as 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 16.

"We will decide on the appropriate action to take upon receipt of the order from the court," said lawyer Kim Anthony Castro, Radaza's counsel. (MKG)
