The Rain or Shine E-Painters finally broke out of their two-game slump with an 83-77 come-from-behind win over Terrafirma Dyip in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup, on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Veteran wingman Gabe Norwood sparked the E-Painters’ fourth period comeback as he scored eight straight points in a massive 18-0 blitz that turned what was a 61-67 deficit into a huge 79-67 lead after a basket by Javee Mocon with 5:27 left in the match.

Rain or Shine eventually hiked their lead to a high of 13, 82-69, off a triple by Adrian Wong as they improved to 4-2 for the season.

Rey Nambatac led the way for Rain or Shine with 17 points while Norwood and Wong had 15 points apiece. Norwood also had seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The loss dropped Terrafirma to 0-4. It appeared early on that the Dyip had a solid shot at entering the win column as they led by 15 but Rain or Shine turned the jets on in the final stanza to frustrate Terrafirma. Juami Tiongson had 20 points and seven assists for the Dyip. (JNP)
