Rama to JO employees: You will get Christmas bonus

CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama assured job order (JO) employees that they will receive Christmas bonuses but the exact amount is yet to be determined.

During the commemoration of national hero Andres Bonifacio's 159th birth anniversary at the Plaza Independencia on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Rama said that some JOs were worried they would not get any.

The mayor announced that as the president of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), he will write a letter to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the latter to issue a directive for a uniform incentive to all JOs in the country.

"As the president of the LCP, I am writing to the President to bring about a memorandum circular or an executive order so that we can legitimize," said Rama.

As of September 30, City Hall had around 2,200 JO employees.

Rama had announced last October that regular and casual employees would receive a Christmas bonus ranging from P17,000 to P20,000. (IRT, PJB)
