Rama on leave for 4 days starting January 24

CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama will take a week of "respite" starting Tuesday, January 24, 2023, putting Vice Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia as acting mayor.

In a press conference Monday, January 23, Rama said their family vacation was supposed to take place in the last week of December 2022 but it was canceled due to the City Government's preparation for the Sinulog Festival.

Rama will be officially on leave for four days starting Tuesday but will only be back in the city on Sunday, January 29.

According to Rama, he will not be leaving the country but will only stay on "another island," which he did not disclose for security reasons.

"That will bring a notion to everybody, do not look for your mayor but since I will be in the Philippines as long as the signal is not cut, I will still be connected," said Rama. (IRT)
