Randy Santiago learns to accept son's death

17 Aug - Singer-songwriter Randy Santiago admitted that it's painful to see his son Ryan go, but that he will accept what is already written by God.

As reported on ABS-CBN, the singer, who spoke to the media following news of Ryan's passing, shared that he believes there is a purpose that his son was taken away so soon from them.

"[The Lord] may have a reason for why he had to leave, and why he had to go at an early age," he said.

To the singer, the most important thing is that he and wife, Marilou were able to be with Ryan until very last moment.

"My wife said that it might be harder if we die first and not be able to take care of him. It's harder for us. So sometimes, even when it hurts us, it's better that we got to take care of him until the end," he said.

Ryan Santiago passed away on 13 August after years of battling a rare form of brain disease and multiple sclerosis.

He was 24.
