Filipino basketball star Kiefer Ravena will make his much-awaited debut in the B.League on Saturday as his Shiga Lakestars takes on his younger brother, Thirdy Ravena, and the rest of the SanEn NeoPhoenix in the B.League

Tip-off will be at 4:05 p.m. in what is the first of two meetings between the two teams this weekend. They square off once again on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. This marks the very first time the brothers will face off against each other.

“As brothers, we know we bring out the best in one another. Hope we can do that and provide our team the need for us to win. Definitely, I’ll be doing my best for my team to come out on top,” Ravena said during his introductory press conference.

The younger Ravena was the first to break the barrier in the B.League as he became the first Filipino to play in the league last year. Since then, several blue-chip basketball players, including Kiefer Ravena, have made the jump to Japan.

The Ravena brothers are not the only Filipinos who will be playing their first games in the B.League on Saturday. Also set for their debuts are former University of the Philippines star Kobe Paras, who will be playing for the Niigata Albirex BB against the Kyoto Hannaryz, while Javi Gomez de Liano’s Ibaraki Robots will take on the Akita Northern Happinets.

Former TNT star Bobby Ray Parks and the Nagoya Dophins will also face off against the Sun Rockers Shibuya. (JNP)
