CEBU City Michael "Mike" Rama said the results of the probe into the alleged anomalous garbage collection deal conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be out soon.

In a press conference Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Rama said he was briefed by NBI-Central Visayas Director Renan Oliva about the progress of the case.

According to Rama, the NBI regional director said that there are "things to be unwavering and actions will be expected" from the national investigation body.

In their 2021 audit report, the Commission on Audit has flagged the City Government's P383 million garbage collection deal with Docast Construction and JJ & J Construction and General Supply in 2021.

"Let us wait on how NBI will be coming on what they believe should be because that is their mandate and I have trust and confidence in the present director and the staff... Give them the benefit of the doubt," said Rama. (IRT)
