Rhinos, Eagles stay undefeated in Elite Basketball Cebu

THE Gothong Shipping Lines-Rhinos and the Prime Movers Logistics-Eagles kept their undefeated records intact as they prevailed over their respective opponents in the Elite Basketball Cebu Season 18 last Sunday at the Casals Gym.

The Rhinos powered past the Wolves, 111-101, thanks to the brilliance of former University of Cebu guard, Shane Menina. The cat-quick guard did it all for the Rhinos as he produced 33 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, five steals, and a block, to help the team improve to 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Eagles picked up their fourth win in as many games with a 137-83 thrashing of the Vipers. Veteran wingman Janjan Auditor led the onslaught with 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

Meanwhile, the Hogs handed the Cebu Sherilin Trading Corporation-Bears their first loss of the tournament, 101-94, in overtime. Monbert Arong led the way for the Hogs with his 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Both the Hogs and the Bears now have identical 2-1 records.

The Raptors also kept in step with the league-leaders as they defeated the Barracudas, 101-76. Justine Jules Langres had stellar numbers for the Raptors, with his 22 points, seven boards, and six dimes to push his squad’s record to 3-1.

In other games, the Chameleons and the Falcons notched their first wins of the tournament with convincing wins over their opponents.

The Chameleons dropped the Barracudas, 93-77, thanks to Dondie Guillena’s 24 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists.

The Falcons beat the Bulldogs, 97-62, as Axel Rabaya compiled 16 points, seven boards, and six assists. (JNP)
