Ride hailing app manager, rider cry foul over unclaimed order

·1 min read

A MANAGER of a ride hailing app accompanied their rider to the Mabolo Police Station after the latter fell victim to his customer on Sunday evening, July 31, 2022.

Christopher Poliran, head manager of Maxim Cebu, said that a customer ordered through their app a motorcycle helmet worth P3,800, but the latter could not be contacted anymore when the rider arrived at their meeting place to deliver the item.

Poliran said this is the new modus of some people to sell their items online and later book a ride hailing app when somebody orders their goods.

Poliran believed that the seller and the buyer have connived with each other.

The manager said they were able to locate the customer later on the same day through his cellular phone wherein they negotiated for the suspect, who turned out to be a former Maxim rider, to settle his obligation. (BBT, TPT)
