ROFs, foreign nationals temporarily prohibited from entering PH via MCIA

FOLLOWING the guidelines under Memorandum Circular No. 5, s. 2021 issued by the National Task Force (NTF) Against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has announced that the following passengers are temporarily prohibited from entering the Philippines via MCIA starting March 20, 2021 until April 19, 2021:

• Returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) who are non-overseas Filipino workers

• Foreign nationals

However, MCIA said that the passengers under the following qualifications are exempted from the restriction:

• Holders of 9(c) visas

• Medical repatriation and their escort/s duly endorsed by the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) or the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration

• Distressed ROFs duly endorsed by the DFA-OUMWA

• Emergency, humanitarian, and other analogous cases approved by the NTF Against Covid-19

MCIA said that all arriving passengers must comply with the arrival protocols and adhere to the minimum public health standards.

“The well-being of passengers and staff remains MCIA’s topmost priority in this continuing global battle against Covid-19,” said MCIA in a media advisory released on Thursday, March 18, 2021. (PR/With NRC, AT)
