9 Sep – Ruffa Gutierrez recently admitted that she was in awe with the cast and crew of her drama, "Love Thy Woman", who continued to work following news of ABS-CBN's shutdown.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress who recalled the moment the news made headlines on Toni Gonzaga's online show, "I Feel U" recently, stated that they were filming an ordinary scene when news that the House of Representatives has decided to kill the franchise bid came out.
"Can you imagine? We have a scene where we should not cry, but suddenly we were all crying on set. I said [to the director], "Can we shoot our crying scenes? Because we have been killed. Congress has already said no. Let's do 'the heavy scenes'. Because even though we don't have to be emotional, we all really were so emotional," she said.
Recalling that moment now, Gutierrez said that she now has a new-found respect for everybody working on the show, since they continued to be professional throughout production despite not knowing what the future holds for them.
"Every time I look back, I really admire us, the whole cast, crew, staff. It is very difficult to make a production. It is very difficult to maintain the excitement with everything going around. In spite of everything that happened, in spite of all the challenges that they've gone through, they were really trying to survive."
