Russell Brand: I want to flirt with Theron

Russell Brand plans to flirt with Charlize Theron at the MTV Movie Awards to make up for a time he didn’t “use moves” on her.

The British star is hosting the annual film ceremony, which is being held on June 3 in the Gibson Amphitheatre, Los Angeles.

The single star is looking forward to the show as he hopes to spend some time with Charlize.

“Oh my God. She's amazing, isn't she? [I met her], and it was embarrassing. I messed it up bad. I met her and didn't recognise her. I was at a party, and I was looking at birds. She came over and [said] something untoward. And I showed off like an idiot, not recognising her,” he admitted.

“I thought, 'Oh no! I didn't use any of my moves!' It's a new day, it's a new dawn, it's a new life. Is she single?"

Russell split from his wife Katy Perry last year and they are currently in the process of getting divorced.

The star also spoke about the type of movies he likes to watch and why. He hasn’t seen the hugely popular Twilight franchise, although he is a fan of one of its stars. Taylor Lautner has made a big impression on Russell.

“I don't watch things like [Twilight] I don't know, I don't know why I would watch it. But for the people, I like the good-looking boys,” he told MTV. “Robert Pattinson and him with the tummy [referring to Taylor’s famed abs]. I met him. He was really handsome."
