THE man who was found dead in Consolacion town, northern Cebu on Saturday, May 28, 2022, was reportedly picked up by police officers in Cebu City just days before he was killed.

Patrocinio Quiboquibo Jr., confirmed to police that the dead body found in Barangay Sacsac, Consolacion is his own son, Eric Abarilla, a native of Moalboal town but temporarily residing in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.

Abarilla was found dead around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, along the road in Paseo Begonia, Purok 7 in Barangay Sacsac.

He had gunshot wounds to the forehead and back of the head. Duct tape also covered his face while both of his hands were tied.

He had tattoos all over his body and was also wearing a t-shirt with the name of a fraternity.

Patrocinio said he last saw his son in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, where he was allegedly picked up by police.

But Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, deputy city director for operation of the Cebu City Police Office, said that they have not received any report from the Labangon Police Station, in which Barangay Tisa is part of its jurisdiction, if its personnel have picked up anyone.

Local police in Consolacion, however, urged Quiboquibo to appear at their office to assist them in their investigation on his son’s death.
