San Miguel crushes TNT to tie semis up at 2-2

The San Miguel Beermen destroyed the TNT Tropang Giga, 116-90, to tie the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series at 2-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

The Beermen took advantage of the foul woes of TNT’s big men, Poy Erram and Troy Rosario to dominate early. With the aforementioned TNT sentinels riding the bench with foul trouble, San Miguel’s own frontcourt players flourished, led by Moala Tautuaa who finished with a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds.

Fellow frontcourt players Cebuano center June Mar Fajardo had 13 points and 12 rebounds while Arwind Santos added 11 markers.

San Miguel’s guards were just as lethal with Terrence Romeo scoring 16 points off the bench while Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

San Miguel was so dominant that they led by as much as 37 points.

Jayson Castro led TNT with 15 points while Glenn Khobuntin had 13. Star wingman Roger Pogoy was held down to just two points on 1-of-10 shooting from the field. (JNP)
