The road gets tougher for the Zamboanga City side that recently dominated the 2020 Chooks-to-Go President's Cup presented by TM as they take on some of the world’s best 3x3 teams in the 2020 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on November 20 and 21.

Cebuano Leonard “Santi” Santillan, Troy Rike and the country’s top two 3x3 players, Joshua Munzon and Alvin Pasaol, will now carry the name Manila Chooks and will do battle in a tournament that features four of the top five 3x3 teams in the entire world.

The Philippine contingent will have their work cut out for them as they need to finish better than fifth place in order to secure a spot in the 2020 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Final on December 18 and 19.

A total of 14 teams will be competing in Doha led by the top-ranked Liman of Serbia followed by Riga of Latvia. Two teams from the United States, namely NY Harlem and Princeton, will also be playing.

The rest of the field includes Ub of Serbia, Lausanne of Switzerland, Jeddah and Riyadh of Saudi Arabia, Kamakura NatureMade and Yoyogi Crayon.EXE of Japan, Bielefeld of Germany, Lusail of Qatar and Utena Uniclub of Lithuania.

The Philippine team has had plenty of action in the last two weeks as they competed in five legs of the President’s Cup. They eventually emerged victorious in the Grand Finals and took home the whopping cash prize of P1 million. (JNP)
