CEBUANO warriors Niño Rio Saoy and Arnel Ylanan are featured in Underground Battle (UGB) MMA 41 - “Unstoppable” on June 18 at the Barangay Day-as Sports Complex in Cebu City.

Saoy takes on fellow striker Rendel Camenci in the main event.

“This will be a very good fight. Both have almost fought each other three times in the past already. Now, Saoy’s moving up in weight and they will finally meet. Someone’s going to get knocked out because Saoy and Camenci are both fighters,” Yaw-Yan Ardigma founder and CEO Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga, who’s is handling the event, told SunStar Cebu.

The 29-year-old Saoy, who fights out of Mactan Sports Combat in Lapu-Lapu City, is a deadly striker. He’s a former member of the Philippine National Muay Thai team and has an impressive Muay Thai record of 20 wins, six losses and three draws.

Saoy’s last recorded fight was back in 2018, wherein he beat Henry David Lee Puyat Jr. via a second round arm-triangle choke submission.

Like Saoy, Camenci is also a striker that has a kickboxing base.

“This will be a brawl. The fans won’t regret watching this fight,” said Caniga.

Saoy is 8-4, while Camenci is 17-4-1.

Meanwhile, Ylanan is up against Romil John Deita in the co-main feature.

The 36-year-old Ylanan is a very experienced grappler that has fought in MMA for over a decade now, fighting in the country’s top MMA organizations like the URCC and PXC.

Ylanan’s last fight was a technical decision loss to Ariel Oliveros in 2019.

Deita, in the meantime, is a boxer and a Muay Thai fighter.

Caniga believes that this fight is a classic fight between a striker and a grappler.

Ylanan is 19-8, while Deita is 8-3.

The show also has 10 bouts in the undercard, which includes the return of Renan “Flash” Noblefranca.
