Sara Duterte wants full face-to-face classes by August
Incoming Education Secretary Sara Duterte is "targeting" to implement full face-to-face classes in schools by August, according to Inquirer.
The Vice President-elect, who will concurrently handle the education portfolio, told this to reporters during a press briefing in Davao City on Monday (Jun 20). Duterte-Carpio added that she and outgoing Education Secretary Leonor Briones will meet face-to-face on June 25, following their written communications.
She earlier said that she would look into fully resuming face-to-face classes once in office.
In May, Briones also encouraged all public and private schools to resume in-person classes for the upcoming School Year 2022-23. At that time, around 73 percent of public schools in the country had already done so.
Briones said she expects 100 percent face-to-face classes by the next school year, which begins on August 22.
