A 62-year-old sari-sari store owner was stabbed by her own customer in Sitio Luym, Barangay West Poblacion, Naga City, southern Cebu on Sunday evening, June 19,

The victim, identified as Marcela Bacla-an Burdado, was tending her store when she was stabbed by her customer with a sharpened iron bar on her right abdomen and left

lower leg.

The suspect fled onboard a motorcycle without being identified as he was wearing a helmet.

Lieutenant Colonel Junnel Caadlawon, officer-in-charge of Naga Police Station, said that according to the husband, Burdado was cultivating her garden infront of the

sari-sari store when the suspect arrived and bought 14 sticks of Winston cigarette.

The suspect reportedly handed P500 bill to the victim, who then went to a nearby store to look for a change.

But as the victim went back inside her store the suspect followed her and stabbed her.

The wounded Burdado was brought to the Naga City health center for minor treatment.

Burdado said she had no idea who stabbed her as she could not remember having a grudge with another.

Caadlawon said they are still gathering more information in their investigation to identify the suspect. (GDC, TPT)
