MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court has ordered the officials of the Department of Health, Department of Education and Department of Interior and Local Government to comment on the 43- page petition for mandamus submitted by the Gabriela Partylist last December 2017.
The petition is in connection with the government’s controversial dengue immunization program.
The petitioners argued the said government agencies should shoulder the free medical services and treatment of the children who received Dengvaxia vaccine.
They said the government should also implement a 5-year monitoring of the condition of the children and to also hold liable those behind the purchase of the Dengvaxia vaccine and the implementation of the anti-dengue immunization program.
“The court directed the respondents to comment on the petition for mandamus within a period of ten (10) days from notice,” Supreme Court Spokesperson Atty. Theodore Te said. – UNTV News & Rescue
