MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Senate to file their comment on the petition of Aegis Juris Fraternity president, Arvin Balag seeking to stop the legislative investigation on the death of hazing victim Horacio “Atio” Castillo III.
In his petition, Balag said the Senate inquiry is being done not in aid of legislation but in aid of prosecution.
Balag also wants the SC to compel the Senate to release him saying his detention violated due process.
Balag has been cited for contempt and was ordered detained by the Senate for refusing to answer the questions of some senators. – UNTV News & Rescue
